Captain Vikram Batra, PVC was an Indian Army officer, he was rewarded by the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest and most prestigious award for valor. He died during a fight in the 1999 Kargil War, he led which is considered as one of the most difficult mountain warfare operations in Indian military history.

In June 1996, he cleared his CDS exam and left his course to join the 

Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
