He debuts his singing career in the movie Aamir in 2008 as a composer. He became famous for his tremendous work in Dev. D in 2009.
When he was young, he took interest in an electronic musical instrument.

At his age of 20 years, he started to compose music. During his college time, he discovered his own band named Om, this band performs small shows, live performances, and concerts.

Once he came to the notice of Times Music, he offered to make an album but this album did not fare well due to its lack of promotions.

He also composed for theater, background music for TV serials, liver appearances, orchestras, and many other night concerts.

He also signed with Sony BMG as a two-year contract, he composed some tracks for Abhijeet Sawant’s Junoon and another one tack in Prashant Tamang’s debut album.

His good times came when his friend and playback singer Shilpa Rao suggested his name to film director, Anurag Kashyap who find of a new composer with a distinct vision, and last he offered for Dev D. where Amit started his career.
